Issue#1433: Unity - Simply detecting the oculus rift's presence [SOLVED]

  • Hi all,

    Could you please help me understand why the first 'if' clause works but the second one returns nothing?

    Thanks

    Code (CSharp):
    1.     void Start ()
    2.     {
    3.         if ( Ovr.Hmd.Detect() > 0 )
    4.             Debug.Log ( "Rift detected!" );
    5.
    6.         if ( OVRManager.display.isPresent && OVRManager.tracker.isPresent )
    7.             Debug.Log ( "Both display and tracker are present!" );
    8.     }

  • Issue#62716: Unity - [Solved] Diagonal movement speed issue

    Hello. I am attempting to move my player up, down, left, and right on a 2d plane. However, I was getting what is apparently a common issue where diagonal movement was compounded by 2 different vectors equalling more than 1. The solution, apparently, is to normalize the vectors and then use those normalized vectors to move the object at the end of the function. The problem I am having now is that I can no longer move up or down, it only allows me to move left or right, and I can't figure out... [Solved] Diagonal movement speed issue

  • Issue#125738: Unity - Fix for reflection based effects - water, mirrors - when using Oculus Rift

    If you are applying a shader effect that requires a reflection camera, the reflection camera appears to be monoscopic, the result is that your render to texture will be monoscopic while the rest of your rendered world is stereoscopic. I posted this issue on the Oculus Forums and thanks to vrdaveb (Team Oculus) who provided a temporary solution: "make 2 copies of your camera and set their "Target Eye" to "Left" and "Right" instead of "Both"." This worked for me using Unity 5.3..2p1. I have... Fix for reflection based effects - water, mirrors - when using Oculus Rift

So in y'alls opinions, do you think a 600 price tag will still leave it as a niche market to only the people with elite computers can actually enjoy? I've been experiencing this strange "bug" it seems with my raycast in Unity using my Oculus Rift. So I've scripted a raycast, and used a Debug.DrawRay so I could visualize the ray and trouble shoot etc. I noticed that it would work for a while, and the ray would cast directly out the front of the camera shooting in a forward direction, but after a while ( perhaps, if I leave unity running for an hour or so, working on things on and off) the raycast would suddenly act almost as if it was... • Issue#390263: Unity - Oculus Rift - show both eyes in editor / PIE?

    Using latest Unity and Oculus plugins / SDK, I see only a single eye's view in the editor. For debugging, I'd really like to see both eyes side-by-side, like when "mirror mode" is enabled in other Rift demos. At the moment, I have to put the headset on and close each eye to see the different points-of-view. This makes it difficult to oh, say, tell if your app happens to be rendering monoscopic and just duplicating the content between displays. Suggestions? Examples? Ideally, for a test,... I'm working on a game on the Rift that takes place in low light. In the Editor, as I get the light intensity very low, I can get very near to black without getting all the way there. However, when viewing on the rift, everything is a little brighter (a lot actually) - like the gamma is brighter on the Rift or something. • Issue#618155: Unity - Oculus Rift Camera Offset.

    HI all. I just returned to some all DK2 projects that I made in the first half of 2015. It seems there's been some sort of changes to the Oculus Rift drivers, because now all of my old projects have these really severe vertical camera offsets. If I calibrate the rift to put my default position in a particular place, then I keep my head exactly there, when I press play in Unity, the camera moves up pretty dramatically so that most of my GUI is off the screen. Anybody encountered this... Oculus Rift Camera Offset.
