  • Issue#121120: Hi All, I'm new here. I'm having an issue with my laptop Acer Aspire 5542G.

Basically what happened is, I used my laptop and turned it off, and when I try to power on again (maybe after an hour or so) it is not starting. It’s not going into POST, or gives me any beeps. Screen is completely black. Only activity I here is DVD rom check and motherboard fan starting. I can see power on LED (blue) lights up and battery charging lights up (orange). Buts that’s it.Before this issue, I didn’t upgrade BIOs or any hardware on the laptop. It was working flawlessly and never had any issues like sudden restart, freezing or blue screen. So since this issue started I have done following to get it sorted.I have removed and reseated the RAM cards at the back. I tried them each at a time in both slots. I have removed and reconnected the hard disk.I have remove RAM, Hard Disk (off course the battery as well) and left it to be over a day just to remove any charge left in it (also pressed and held the power button over a 1minute).I have connected the laptop to an extern

  • Issue#11112: Acer aspire v5-572g bios issue among others..

Hi there, Just today I got the error 0xc0000185.  I looked up many solutions to this issue, most requiring the BIOS.  I got this laptop second hand off Amazon and I'm pretty sure it was restored to factory defaults.  I never set a BIOS password but it is asking me for one..  Not too sure what to do.  Tried spam clicking f12 on startup to try boot off of a USB but it seems to ignore it.  Any help would be grately appreciated!

  • Issue#11355: Acer Aspire V5-572P WiFi issue after upgrade to Win 10

  • Issue#21220: Acer Aspire E5-771G Adaptive Brightness Issue

Hi all, I am unable to turn off the adaptive brightness on my laptop. So far I've tried the following: Change the power plan to "high performance"Adjust the advanced power settings so that the Windows "adaptive brightness" to be turned off both for battery and ACChanged the settings of the Intel Graphics drivers and set them to maximum performanceNone of the above actually changed anything. I cannot belive that this cannot be turned off and it is such annoying feature that would surely make me sell the **bleep** thing! Please advise!

  • Issue#87802: Acer Aspire Switch 10 Display Driver Issue with Windows 10

In December last year I noticed when I went to go use the tablet the screen was black, amlost like it wouldn't wake from sleep. Window softkey worked and I could here when I recieved email but the screen would stay black. When I performed a hard reset of the device I would get the usual Acer boot logo, but after a few minutes the screen would go black again. The kicker is I can still use the tablet using the HDMI output, (I'm using the tablet as I type with HDMI out to a monitor.) I've tried the following:Uninstall and reinstall video driver (no joy)Used Intel Driver Update Utility, (install goes fine no joy)Downloaded and installed Platform Driver pack from Acer for Windows 10, (install goes fine with no joy)Restore to Windows 8, (this one is tricky since it requires the onboard display to work so this one didn't work)Reloaded Windows 8 and 10 from disk, (the kicker on this is the the screen works perfect during installation and all the way through setting up the tablet for

  • Issue#194084: Acer Aspire VN7-792G performance issue

Hi!So I recently bought this laptop. The Acer Aspire VN7-792G from a local liscenced reseller. I have a problem with this laptop ever since I installed Windows 10 on it. So. After about 10 minutes of gaming I notice the laptop getting really warm and I am worried that my in-game performance drops because of the thermal throttling issue. I play the game smoothly and all but after a few moments the screen just freezes and then continues working smoothly. This issue continues periodically every 2 minutes and it really bothers me. If anyone has a solution please post it because I expected more from a flagship laptop. Thanks!

  • Issue#195160: Aspire E3-111 With intermitent touchpad issue. Does Acer fix this problem for free?

I have read thread upon thread about the problems with the precision touchpad on Acer computers. It seems that for most users, no change in drivers, BIOS, system resets/restores, settings or software changes fixes the problem permenantly. The only people who seem to have had this fixed for good have sent their computer in to have hardware replaced. Has Acer ever publicically recognized the issue? Are they repairing this issue under some sort of recall?I have gone from Windows 8, to 8.1 and now to 10 with no change in touchpad behavior. I have updated BIOS, updated/changed drivers, reinstalled ALL drivers starting with Intel IO, chipset, etc... I have changed touchpad settings as well, all with no change. The touchpad is pretty much unusable so I have resorted to an external mouse but I bough the computer to be ultra-portable, carrying and using a mouse works against that goal.Is there any help at all from Acer?

  • Issue#205288: Acer - Aspire V 17 nitro touchpad issue

Hey there,I need your help and advice guys. I've had my Nitro for awhile and everything is great, except for one thing - touchpad. Most of the time, touchpad works fine but sometimes it happens that touchpad acts strange - out of sudden, it starts with selecting and marking things as if I wanted to drag it and copy/past it somewhere. I can't find a way how to reverse it, neither do I know how do I turn it on. I suppose it's some kind of gesture?!? Touchpad gets sort of stuck and keeps selecting and dragging/copying anything on open website or programme..... Whatever it is I'm running at the moment. Turning off touchpad etc doesn't help. I always have to restart laptop to get it back to normal. Here's screenshot for to give you better idea

  • Issue#226049: Acer - Aspire V15 Nitro screen issue

So I bought an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro (VN7-592G-77LB) last summer, and lately I have started to notice a problem with the screen.  When in use, the bottom left corner of the screen has a blotch that is tinted like a purple ish color, with red and yellow around the edges.  The blotch actually moves too, if I leave the laptop in my backpack for a while, an inch on either left or right side of the screen will become tinted yellowish, and after a bit of use, it goes back to being a blotch in the bottom corner.  So its as if there is something behind the screen slowly moving I guess.  I suppose its just a messed up display but since I use this laptop for school, I cant just send it out and hope it can be fixed or replaced quickly.  I wanted to know if anyone has haid this same issue with this specific laptop or a similar one.  Thanks!

  • Issue#227081: Acer - Aspire V5-573P Fan Issue

I have had this laptop for 2 years and I have been hearing this loud and annoying buzzing/grinding noise coming from the fan. Is there a way to fix this? Do I have to open up the fan and how would I go about doing that? It gets especially annoying when I am on skype and the people I am talking to can't hear anything besides it. Thanks for any help.

  • Issue#331714: Acer - Aspire VN7-572G program DPI/Scaling Issue

So, I have a annoying problem. I bought my Acer VN7 about a month ago. And since I got it I started notecing that some programs that I installed had the wrong "resolution/DPI" the native resolution is 1920x1080.At first I couldn't be botherd with the "bug" but the more I use the laptop it bothers me more and more. Everything looks blurry.  So I started looking into it, I started with updating all drivers (hoping it would fix it), fixed some, now the start menu and chrome looks right, but Steam Uplay and all the "installers" still have the wrong DPI. So I googled some, and found that this has been a issue for some laptops since like 2013. And the only fix I found is that I have to go into compatibly mode on every program and check the "don't change DPI on big resolutions"  But I shouln't have to do that on every single new program I install.  I wanna know what wierd setting this laptop comes with to do this, I have never had this problem ever. And

  • Issue#391750: ACER Aspire 4750G Clock Speed Issue Intel i5 @ 798MHz

Good day! I have registered in this forum in search for a solution towards my problem. First and formost, here is my laptop specifications: Acer 4750gIntel Core i5 2410M 2.3Ghz (Up to 2.9Ghz with turbo boost)4GB RAM320GB HDD (Temporarily replaced with a faulty 600GB) Ok, that being said, I have two questions: 1. Mainly, as I've noticed the sudden slow down of my computer, I went into further research and found out that my clock speed is stuck at 798MHz via CPU-Z, it wouldn't go up nor go low, even when I open extensive programs like Photoshop or games like Modern Warfare 3 (Like it used to go up to 2Ghz and all). So going further, I opened the laptop to check if any chips or wires weren't properly placed as I had it 're-aligned' through a techcnician, I checked if the bolts and screws weren't properly fixed that could be causing the issue to no avail. I bought and tried Installing a Windows 7 64-bit and then a Windows 7 32-bit but still my CPU won't go beyond 7

  • Issue#432761: Acer - Aspire E14 E5-473G BIOS issue

Hi i recently bought an ACER E5-473G-51GY, my issue is when i plugged in my charger when gaming i get a drastic change in FPS which is very annoying, i read about it with other laptops and it is a possible BIOS issue and upon checking my BIOS version is 1.11 but when i check the acer website the latest available BIOS is 1.10. Should I downgrade my BIOS? or is there any other solutions for this I tried all the tweaking of power options and updated my NVIDIA driver. i hope you could help me on this. Thanks

  • Issue#501044: Acer - Aspire E-15 audio sync issue

Hello! So, this is just a minor blip, but shortly after I got my Aspire E-15 (just this past summer) I noticed that when I watched videos the audio was slightly unsynced with the visuals. It's like watching a poorly dubbed foreign movie. It's only off by a little bit, but it's still irritating. I was hoping there was a reason for it happening/a way to fix it. The laptop is new and in good condition. I keep up with updates (it currently has Windows 10) and my Wifi connection is strong. Did I just get unlucky...?  Thanks in advance!

  • Issue#573933: Acer - Aspire Z3-700 series windows 10 imaging issue.

Not sure if this is correct place to post this question. I have two of the above systems. having set one up I proceeded to take a system image, booting into WinPE and capturing the image using DISM as follows; dism /capture-image /imagefile:%directory%install.wim /capturedir:c:\ /compress:max /name:"img" /scratchdir:c:\recycler\scratchwhere  %directory% is a network location, now what I want to do is to use this image on the other system, so again I booted to WinPE and ran the following commands. DISKPART SEL DISK 0 CLEAN CONVERT GPT CREATE PART EFI SIZE=100 FORMAT FS=FAT32 QUICK OVERRIDE ASSIGN LETTER=Y: CREATE PART MSR SIZE=15 CREATE PART PRIMARY FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK OVERRIDE LABEL="OS" ASSIGN LETTER=C: SHRINK DESIRED=450 CREATE PART PRIMARY FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK OVERRIDE SET ID=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac ASSIGN LETTER=R: EXIT dism /apply-image /imagefile:%directory%\install.wim /index:1 /applydir:c:\ /scratchdir:c:\recycler\scratch rmdir c:\recy

  • Issue#587768: WiFi issue Acer Aspire SW5-012_0928_1.18

My mother in law has a Acer Aspire SW5-012_0928_1.18. Every now and then (actually very often!) internet connection is lost. She's still connected to the network, but there is no internet. In those cases opening the network settings, disable the WiFi adapter and enable it again solves the issue. But that is not something one wants to do every few minutes. I checked the drivers on the Acer page and saw there were Broadcom and Realtek drivers for this laptop (I had the make and model detected by the tool on the website). If I check the device manager I see there is a Realtek WiFi adapter, but the Realtek drivers only install a bluetooth device. As I am typing this the internet connection has been dropped two times! What may be causing this? How can it be solved?

  • Issue#650606: Acer - Aspire E5-573/Windows 8.1 -- Advanced Startup Settings issue

Aspire E5-573/Windows 8.1 The PC won't boot, it's stuck in a loop where it shows the message "A problem has been detected..." and then goes to Automatic Repair but never finishes. Was able to get into the Advanced Startup Settings menu (Alt-F10), and have the "Troubleshoot" option button available, but selecting it via mouse click or keyboard arrow + Enter key never brings up the next option screen - it just hangs. I want to enable legacy booting mode. Any ideas what's wrong? TIA

  • Issue#698096: Acer - Battery status issue - Aspire 7735Z.

Hi - a very odd situation here..... The laptop does not seem to recognise the correct battery status. For example, battery power icon can state: 100% charged yet when adapter cord is removed in order to run on the battery there is almost instant shutdown. On the other hand, having (presumably) charged the battery, if the adapter cord is removed whilst booting to Windows, it runs quite happily on the battery despite the power icon saying "0% remaining". And on the other hand again, it won't cold boot without the adapter cord in. I have tried uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-compliant Control Method Battery but no luck with that.... Maybe the wrong board to post in but could find no appropriate option for this laptop

  • Issue#721724: Acer - Aspire S7-392 Bluetooth Issue windows 10 update

Hi All, I have been having a problem with my aspire s7-392 notebook. I recently upgraded to windows 10. The laptop now will constantly scan for bluetooth devices but can not connect to any of them. All devices show up as unknown devices and are not capable of pairing when the "pair" button is pressed. I upgraded the intel bluetooth driver from the Acer support website and uninstalled the old driver that was from windows 8.0/8.1. I also upgraded the intel proset wireless LAN driver. (BTW, this seems like a joke, almost none of the drivers for the s7-392 automatically upgraded when switching over to windows 10 from 8.1...what kind of "guided support for the installation process is that? Even the Acer Care Center bloatware program couldn't detect the need to upload all the drivers over to windows 10 that are listed on the support center download page!) Is there anything else I should be doing here? Thanks

  • Issue#745755: Acer - USB port issue on Aspire V17

Having an issue with the USB ports on my new V17 Nitro. They work properly, since they recognized my mouse key and my phone, but they're not recognizing a Flash drive that I use on a daily basis and which is recognized by other machines. Is there something inherent to the V17 or to Windows 10 that prevents that without some extra step? I find that hard to believe, since a phone is essentially an external drive that could pose the same security issues, but I'm not sure what else to think at the moment. Little help? Thanks.
